Mr. Waldemar Jezler is an investment banker and entrepreneur from Sao Paulo, Brazil. Jezler currently heads Libra Capital, a financial services company that focuses on Brazilian fixed income assets. Jezler attended the University of Sao Paulo from 1971 to 1975 where he completed a bachelor's degree in civil engineering. Rather than become an engineer, Jezler went to work as a management consultant with Booz Allen and Hamilton. After his time as a consultant, Jezler went to business school to get an MBA. In 1977, Jezler headed to Boston, MA to attend business school at Harvard University. In his two years at Harvard, he was involved in several clubs and societies including the Ibero American, Agribusiness, and Finance clubs. Upon graduation, he returned to Brazil, working in strategic planning, new business development and information technology with various local and international companies based in Brazil. Jezler went on to work in Sao Paulo for Bank of America's Brazil Representative Office. Working as an investment banker for BofA throughout most of the 1980s, Waldemar Novoa Jezler rose through the ranks to become a Vice President. In 1988 Jezler decided to return to America after being offered a job at First National Bank of Chicago in New York City. Jezler's responsibilities included trading Brazilian defaulted and restructured debt (this was shortly after the Latin American debt crisis of the 1980s) and generated trading profits of over $5 million dollars in the one year he remained with the company. Jezler would eventually move on to a life of business development, founding several companies, including Libra Capital, LLC. As the President and Founder of Libra Capital, Mr. Jezler's responsibilities include the structuring and trading of financial instruments in the Brazilian fixed income market. Libra Capital is currently focusing on high yield and high quality investments. Brazilian Federal Precatrios are the underlying instruments. When Jezler is out of the office he enjoys numerous athletic activities, including squash, tennis, and downhill skiing.
